When the news of the family altercation in the household of Pastor Creflo Dollar broke, I knew I’d have something to say.  What I didn’t know was that my commentary would unfold in three parts.  Thus far, we’ve talked about the difficulty of raising children/teens in this “culture of disrespect”; we’ve talked about the measures parents from my generation took to discipline their children; we’ve talked about the fact that the level of respect for authority that was once prevalent is no longer there; we’ve talked about factors that could cause our children to act out.  Now the time has come to talk about the role government should play, if any, in the way in which parents discipline their children.
